Despite Arthur having come to you first to ask for your help with something he'd set up, he's following your lead now. Coming to you was basically begging you to take his hand and wreck his plans and he knows it. He always caves when you're around.
Whatever you turn his plan into is infinitely more complicated and dangerous, but somehow, it all works out and the two of you walk away with more than you bargained for. Life is a willow and it bends right to your wind. Clearly, so does Arthur.
You get celebratory drinks together afterwards. The sun has set and is rising once more when you finally exit the saloon. When you get on your horse and take the reins, ready to ride away and not see Arthur again for longer than he'd like, he puts his hand on yours to stop you. You look at him, and he feels his heart flip and his throat gets dry. It takes a moment until he can speak again.
"Y'know, you could always come back to camp with me," Arthur says. God, he hopes you will. You could hop a train with him; it'll take you home. Anywhere else is hollow. "You don't have to go ridin' off on your own for months at a time. You can stay with us. With me."
