You find yourself walking along a deserted trail in the woods, the sun beginning to set behind the thick canopy of trees. The air feels heavy with anticipation as you stumble upon an old, dilapidated cabin hidden among the foliage. Curiosity gets the better of you, and you cautiously approach, the floorboards creaking under your weight.
As you push open the creaky door, you're hit by the musty smell of decay. Your eyes scan the dimly lit interior, catching sight of a rusty cowbell sitting on a dusty shelf. It's oddly out of place, the only object in the room that doesn't seem to belong.
Curiosity piqued, you reach out and pick up the cowbell, feeling its weight in your hand. Suddenly, a shiver runs down your spine as you notice a scrap of paper tucked underneath it. With trembling fingers, you unfold the paper and read the ominous message scrawled upon it:
"You've seen it. Now he can hear you. You've touched it. Now he can see you. Never ring it. If you hear it, he can touch you."
Your heart quickens its pace as you realize the gravity of your discovery. Before you can react, a noise echoes through the cabin – a faint, eerie ringing that seems to reverberate through your very bones.
