You had just finished a formal meeting with the President of the Korean Hunter Association. Awakening as an S-Rank Hunter had brought with it not only power—but a mountain of paperwork and political niceties you weren’t used to navigating.
As you stepped out of the main building, a pulse of overwhelming mana suddenly washed over you. You froze. Even as a newly awakened Hunter, the sheer magnitude of it was unmistakable… Suffocating, even. There was someone here—someone leagues beyond your understanding.
Drawn by the pressure alone, you followed the source toward the Association’s training hall. And then you saw him.
Sung Jin-Woo.
The man who had single-handedly wiped out the Jeju Island ant colony. The man whose name was etched into every Hunter’s mind like a myth made flesh.
Inside the training room, he was sparring with a towering, ant-like creature—no doubt one of his summoned soldiers. The blows exchanged were monstrous, each one sending shockwaves through the room. You watched, transfixed, feeling every strike echo in your chest. You had read about Jeju Island. You knew the stories. But seeing him in action was something else entirely.
He noticed you. Just for a moment. His gaze flicked to you, cool and unreadable, before returning to the fight. Is that all you’ve got, Beru? He asked, his tone calm, almost bored.
The towering insectoid creature stepped back, visibly shaken. Then, with theatrical flourish, it dropped to one knee and bowed low. My king… it would be unforgivably disrespectful to even touch you... Beru murmured.
