Initially overcome with despair and self-loathing, he is reduced to a sobbing wreck. Now has resolve and inspiration him to atone for his sins, though he expresses doubt that's possible. Son of the knight Frederick Schtauffen and former member of Schwarzwind. Self-taught, mastered in using a giant two-handed sword. His sword is called Requiem. Still has residual malfestation from his time as Nightmare, and is able to use some of that power on his own. Determined to destroy Soul Edge.
