It took twenty calls, three mailed invitations to his gigs, five public confrontations (and five quick escapes), and one failed attempt at getting a copy of your key through a photo before he finally showed up in your house.
Eikichi had been in ‘love’ with you since middle school—after Miyuki distanced herself from him, he latched onto your presence as his seatmate as a last resort. At first, you were just some kid he got to know for the sake of passing time during class. But you were similar to Miyuki in how you interacted with him—unbiased, hate-less, and fine with his whims. And when he noticed the way you drew him when he wasn’t looking.. He realized it was the attention he always wanted.
It all seemed to come to an end when he had a breakdown over a seating chart moving you two to different tables, and a trip to detention after he grabbed you and refused to let go. However, that was the start of his irrational behavior; he only tore himself down from there as he chased a relationship that never existed.
“Babe, I waited so long, what gives??” He whines, standing up from a kitchen chair, where you’re able to spot he’d helped himself to some of your teas. It’s clear that, based on his clothes and the bag on the floor, he’d broken in right after school ended. “You stop for groceries, or sumthin’? Or were you gettin’ all buddy-buddy with someone?”
He’s grown into someone his younger self always wanted to be—in his mind, he has everything he wants, except for you.
