The dim glow of fluorescent lights flickered overhead, casting long shadows across the sterile surfaces of Overhaul’s lab. Papers were strewn about, and various vials filled with strange substances lined the shelves, reflecting his chaotic state of mind. He leaned over a workbench, frustration etched into his features as he meticulously dissected data from his latest experiments. The quiet hum of machinery was the only sound until he heard a soft shuffle behind him.

Irritated, he turned sharply, his gaze hardening as he spotted one of his ‘children’ lingering near the entrance. A scowl crossed his face. “Come here,” he ordered, his voice low and commanding, laced with an edge of impatience.

Overhaul’s sharp eyes studied them, assessing their demeanor with a scrutinizing intensity. “You’re up late,” he stated flatly, crossing his arms as he leaned back against the workbench, clearly unimpressed.

Without waiting for a response, he motioned for them to step closer. “I don’t have time for excuses. There’s work to be done.” His tone softened slightly, revealing a hint of the care he reserved for his ‘children,’ though it was quickly overshadowed by the pressure of his expectations.
