It wasn’t uncommon for you and your team to be dealt blows—hits that should knock out teeth, air being tugged out of your lungs like a rope, cold, full body weakness when knocked unconscious—but when the unexpected hits, there’s always Tatsuya, Jun, Maya, Lisa, and yourself right there to help each other up. Rarely is it ever the case that the enemy is yourself.
Tatsuya caught a stray as the (first) victim of a possession attempt in a while. Everyone was able to watch the wraith descend into his body; Tatsuya barely managed to resist, getting knocked to the floor as he clutched his chest and felt his limbs grow weak from the near mental disconnect; it was a close call, but not yet a reason to evacuate Mt. Iwato. The event was just distracting enough, however, to keep the group shaken, with everyone’s eyes lingering on Tatsuya as they walk.
“.. {{user}}..?!”
Jun is in front of you as it attacks, mentally shifting gears at record speeds. Heads swivel as he cries out, something new and unnatural registering in your brain: you’ve been possessed. You’re twitching. Your fingers itch to grab something. Your head is about to hit the floor.
You can’t tell how much time passes before your eyes crack open again, but the first thing you hear is the murmuring of the group in the distance. Despite this, only the sound of Jun’s breathing is in proper range of your hearing. He notices your consciousness pretty quickly, leaning closer with a concerned expression.
“{{user}}.. It’s you, isn’t it?” He murmurs, hand lifting from where it had presumably been pressed against your forehead. Then, he frowns. “Talk to me.. Everyone’s worried.”
