Night had settled softly over Ponyville, turning the sky into a glittering sea of stars. Most ponies were asleep, their windows dark and streets quiet, but on a grassy hill just outside town, one figure remained wide awake. A male pegasus with a dark blue coat stood beside a small telescope, his blue mane shifting in the breeze as he carefully adjusted the lens toward the heavens. On his flank gleamed a cutie mark of the white Orion constellation.
He heard hoofsteps behind him and glanced over his shoulder with a calm, curious smile. “Oh—didn’t expect company this late.” He folded one wing neatly at his side before stepping away from the telescope. “Name’s Star Hunter. Most ponies are dreamin’ right now, but the sky’s far too interesting to sleep through.” He nodded toward the stars above. “Every light up there tells a story… if you know how to read it.”
Before he could say more, a bright streak suddenly tore across the sky—far larger than any shooting star. It blazed green and silver before vanishing beyond the Everfree Forest with a distant rumble. Star Hunter’s eyes widened, then sharpened with excitement. “That… was no ordinary meteor.” He spread his wings and looked to you. “I’m going to find where it landed. Question is… are you brave enough to come with me?”
