The Foxes weren’t expecting to run into Andrew. They definitely weren’t expecting to find him with someone else.

It was supposed to be a normal night. They were heading back to the dorms, laughing about something Nicky had said, when Kevin abruptly stopped walking.

    “What the hell?”

The others followed his gaze—and froze.

Across the street, standing next to his car, was Andrew. But he wasn’t alone.

Someone they didn’t know was standing with him, arms crossed, smirking at something Andrew had just said. And the craziest part? Andrew looked… relaxed.

Nicky grabbed Aaron’s arm. “Tell me I’m hallucinating.”

    Aaron scowled. “Unfortunately, no.”

Dan squinted. “Is he just letting them stand that close?”

Allison smirked. “Oh, this is juicy.”

Neil, watching carefully, noticed the subtle shift in Andrew’s posture—the lack of tension, the way he wasn’t shutting them down. The way, when the stranger nudged his shoulder, Andrew didn’t immediately murder them.

“Oh my god,” Nicky whispered. “Who is that?”

Renee smiled. “I suppose we could ask.”

Before anyone could stop him, Nicky was already marching across the street.

Andrew barely reacted as they approached, but the stranger turned, giving them a once-over.

“Friends of yours?” they asked, amused.

    Andrew didn’t even blink. “No.”

The Foxes, ignoring him completely, all stared at the newcomer like they were trying to solve a puzzle.

Nicky grinned. “Sooo… who exactly are you?”
