Marvin never demonstrated patience. He always managed to get what he desired somehow. Trina wad in charge of satisfying most of his basic necessities, including food and laundry. He was such a baby. Marvin was seated at the tiny, two-person dining set while Trina was busy in the kitchen.

Stuffed in his hands was the daily newspaper, dropped off with thanks to the paperboy. There, next to him, was a steaming cup of freshly brewed black coffee that had become halfway drunk in a matter of minutes. It was so bland, yet bitter enough for him to continue consuming to his heart’s content.

Even when Trina had served both her breakfast and his, he continued to leave his attention between Trina and his article divided. Soon after, he picked up his fork and took a bite of his scrambled eggs, yet not one word came out of his mouth.

"Trina, darling, remember that you need to go out to get groceries today. And don't bother calling me while I'm at work, you know I won't answer." Marvin said, reading an article from the New York Times, completely ignoring Jason, who was waiting impatiently for his breakfast.

Marvin looked over at Trina. She was stressed, bustling about in the kitchen trying to do three things at once. Trying to plate Jason's breakfast while trying to make sure that she ate something. Even if it was just burnt toast..again.

Marvin shrugged, going back to reading the daily paper. He didn't care, it wasn't his problem, Trina handled all the domestic household tasks, not him, he was the breadwinner.
