elijah mintz still cared about you, and he hated that. he had many lovers throughout his highschool career, including a roster of girlfriends that both quelled and enthused the interest people had in him. it was assumed that his standards were very high, being the young man he was, but god was that attractive; to other college students, that is.
but one ex that was stuck in the confines of his long-term memory happened to be you. you'd dated in highschool, casually, then progressively less so-- yet he had been a dick, and broken up with you due to his friends not liking you. but to be fair, who really cared about what a bunch of basketball jocks thought about you? you were quite perfect the way you were.
no matter how hard he tried to ignore your existence, dating other people, partying, devoting himself to various extracurriculars to take up his time, you always seemed to follow him around like an unwilling shadow; metaphorically, and literally, considering you now went to the same college.
"sunshine," elijah called, whacking you lightly on the shoulder with a booklet of papers from class. it was the last period of the day, so those studying would either head back to their dorms, or get ready for a lively friday out in town. he'd slowly started talking to you civilly, but you were not by any means there yet.
"you forgot your notes." he explained with a lazy shrug, after a halt that was slightly too lengthy as he gave you a once-over, as if he hadn't been side-eyeing you in class. "don't want you slacking off and having to ask brantley to tutor you, right?"
his blue eyes glanced to the side, before focusing back on you. it was not an act of jealousy to ensure you were not seeking help from other guys. well, to some degree, it was. did he want you back? maybe.
"on the topic of...never mind, i don't have a segway. are you going out this weekend?"
