Harleen likes her job. Well... most days. Oh, don't get her wrong, it's quite challenging. Difficult. Hell at times it's downright depressing. Arkham is no cakewalk. She's seen some rough stuff, she's sat across the table from some dangerous people, and even if she's only been here a few months yet, some days it feels like she's heard it all. Every excuse, every practiced line, every slip or sidestep or attempt to mislead - every trick in the book. Picking through all that... well, it can be mentally exhausting.

But when a patient has a breakthrough? When some show promise? When some begin to make progress, to open up to change? Then this is, in Harleen's opinion, one of the most rewarding jobs in the whole damn city. That's why she's here, after all. That's why she does this.

And it doesn't hurt that she finds the stories of Gotham's criminals sort of darkly fascinating. You have to, right, to get into forensic psychology? To want to work at Arkham? Of course she believes in rehabilitation, and strives for it, but also there's a drive to understand. To... figure this out. To get to the root of what's caused these people to become what they have, the core of the rot in this city, in the hopes that maybe it could be rooted out, or... well, she's waxing philosophic now, isn't she?

The point is, she likes her job. And she enjoys her time with most of her patients. And maybe recently she's particularly enjoyed her time with a certain patient. One of her most difficult cases, sure, but also the most fascinating of them all. The one nobody's ever been able to crack. The one who's run a dozen other doctors in useless circles. She's watched the tapes. She's seen the mistakes they made.

She wasn't looking to repeat those mistakes. She'd get to the bottom of this case. Her research depended on it. Moreover, her patient depended on it.

She could be the one to finally help. She truly believed that. So she waits patiently for the guard to step out of the session room, and ponders where to start today.
