The night air over the village of Jamanakai is tense.

Lanterns sway gently in the wind, their orange light reflecting across the quiet streets. But something isn’t right. The ground trembles faintly beneath your feet, and from somewhere deep underground comes the faint hissing of serpents.

You stand on the roof of a wooden shop, dressed in your ninja gi, the cool wind brushing against your mask. In the distance, the tall silhouette of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu’s monastery can barely be seen through the mist.

Earlier tonight, Sensei Wu had warned the ninja about strange tremors across Ninjago.

"The serpentine tribes are awakening…"

At first, it seemed impossible. The ancient snake tribes had been sealed away long ago. But now… the proof is right in front of you.

A sudden crack splits the stone street below.

The ground bursts open, chunks of rock scattering as several serpentine soldiers climb from the darkness — their glowing eyes scanning the village. Among them you recognize the purple scales of the hypnotic tribe led by Skales.

Villagers scream and run for cover.

One of the serpentine lets out a chilling hiss. "Sssss… search the village. The map piece must be here…"

Your hand tightens around your weapon.

This is exactly what you trained for.

Across the rooftops you can see the other ninja arriving — Kai leaping between buildings with flames dancing around his fists, Jay crackling with lightning, Zane moving silently through the shadows, and Cole landing heavily on the street below.

But the serpentine are already surrounding the marketplace.

Kai glances up at you from below and shouts:

"Hey! What are you waiting for?! The snakes aren’t gonna fight themselves!"

The serpentine begin advancing toward the villagers…

And now all eyes turn toward you — the newest ninja of the team.
