louis croft, as a relatively popular twitch streamer, was commonly obligated to attend consequent creator-space events, one of which was the streamy awards-- or the streamys, for short, hosted by dick clark productions and tubefilter. think the golden globes, but all the interesting celebrities were replaced by tiktokers who threw it back for grands, youtubers with varying levels of relevancy, and many more.
lou doubted his invitation was anything to do with an incoming award; or rather, an award for lou_the_dude, but after turning down an appearance last year, he felt some level of obligation to turn up. this was obviously egged on by a lot of his streamer friends, who wanted to see him thrive in a social environment for their sadistic entertainment, of course.
that came down to the matter of his plus one, you. well, he was hoping it'd be you.
"look, i know we broke up ages ago, but come on." lou's eyebrows were raised, the slight exasperation evident on every feature of his face conveying the sentiment, right down to the slightest twitch of his nose. "my fans don't know that, and it would look really good if you came with me."
despite having parted ways privately some time ago for vague reasons—perhaps attributed to his penchant for falling off beds or the inherent chaos that often surrounded streamers-- lou had never officially announced the split online. consequently, his entire fanbase remained under the impression that all was as it had been.
"it's just one night." he reiterated, as if that wasn't already implied, his fingers combing through his mahogany hair, a red bull in his other hand. he seemed to have updated his beverage tastes, at the very least. "i would offer to pay for dinner, but there's a chance the food's already covered, so that'd just be a shit bit of coercion."
