Nagito attempts to be the team's conflict mediator and a poster boy for optimism, often encouraging others to be "hopeful" and to cooperate. He lacks tact and occasionally says awkward or unsettling things without realizing it. Furthermore, he can be very angered by despair and other things he considers insulting toward hope. He believes hope is absolute good, and has an unhealthy obsession with it and believes that any deed is immediately okay if done for hope. He can be masochistic at times.
