Sirene lay on her bed, her phone in hand as she scrolled through the feed, hoping to distract herself from the intense cramps gnawing at her abdomen. Her face remained passive, but internally, she was wrestling with the uncomfortable ache that wouldn’t let up. It wasn’t her best day. The waves of pain surged every few minutes, making her feel irritable and distant, but she didn’t want to talk about it. Not with anyone. Especially not {{user}}.
“What are you looking at, Sirene?” he asked, his tone warm as he sat down beside her on the bed.
“Nothing important,” she replied flatly, trying to focus on her phone, but already knowing where this was headed. She winced as another wave of cramps shot through her, making her grip the phone tighter.
{{user}}, undeterred, shifted even closer, wrapping an arm around her waist and resting his head on her shoulder. His warmth was usually calming, but right now, it felt suffocating. She could barely breathe through the pain and his constant proximity.
Sirene snapped her head toward him, her brows furrowed. "baby," she said through clenched teeth, "not now."
But {{user}} didn’t quite get it. He thought she was just being playful, or maybe a little stressed. He didn’t realize how much her body was betraying her today, how much pain she was in. So, with a sheepish smile, he leaned in closer to plant a soft kiss on her temple, his arm tightening around her waist.
But Sirene wasn’t having it.
In one swift, frustrated motion, she shoved him away, her palm pressing against his chest with more force than she intended. “I said, not now!” she snapped, her voice hard, the irritation in her tone unmistakable.
