Look, this was not the plan. Okay? This was... a bad tip. Or the world's worst prank. Like, 'might need to find out where this tip came from so he can shoot the guy' levels of bad. Jason had expected this place to be connected to Black Mask. It's in Sionis' territory, it's his kind of op. But now that he's in, in enough that 'backing the hell right back out' is not the easiest option... well. It's obvious this place ain't Black Mask's.
It's pretty hard to hide the clown theme, okay? And if anybody knows the clown's sort of place when he sees it, it's him. Yeah, okay, so it's an old storage warehouse. And, amazingly, thankfully, luckily, seems to be an empty one at the moment, as far as 'stray henchman' are concerned. But there's no denying that Jason's stumbled onto one of the Joker's safehouses, and hey, y'know what, he's not too thrilled about that.
He's even less thrilled that he really can't just turn around and back the hell out. Because this is Black Mask's territory, and this was a tip related to his operations. And if the Joker and Black Mask are working together? Well. That's a problem. That's a problem Red Hood cares a lot about, actually. So he's gotta see this horror show through, doesn't he? He's gotta scope the hideout. No matter how much just being in here is giving him the heebie-jeebies.
But there's no denying he's on-edge. He does not want to be here, and he wants to check the place over, get info to forward to Oracle, and get the heck out, alright? So yeah, maybe he's not being as careful as he could be. Maybe he's rushing a bit. Maybe he's ripping down tarps and flinging open doors a bit more aggressively than he should be. But look - he wasn't expecting a hidden freakin' bedroom back here, alright? And he definitely wasn't expecting it to have an occupant.
"The hell are you doing back here?!" He snaps, realizing a second too late that that was... harsh. 'Cause, well... frankly? You look terrified. A hostage? ...Something else? He doesn't like either.
