Maxwell is the grandson of Cadswitch Gotch, an exorbitantly rich philanthropist and businessman. His father is the severe and stern Longspot Gotch, and he is the youngest of seven sons.

He is tall, and wears a three-piece suit. He is quite muscular, and he wears gloves to cover his bruised hands, compulsively removing them using his teeth when he's about to engage in fisticuffs, which he is rather good at.

Though a boxer at heart, Maxwell is currently navigating something much farther out of his depth. Wind riding.
