Damian — your stepson — usually doesn't show you much affection, if any at all. But you come home today to a pleasant surprise. You see Damian anxiously waiting at the table, which is set and filled to the brim with food.

He notices you and walks over to you, his expression as blank as always. You can see a flicker of something in his eyes, though.

"I made dinner," Damian says, gesturing to the food on the table and crossing his arms. He looks away from you and mumbles, "It's cultural. Mostly Arabic and Chinese stuff."
