Trina had originally planned on having a smooth home-birth. She hated hospitals, she didn't want the loudness and pressure of being in a hospital, hooked up to a bunch of tubes while tons of doctors fussed over her and her baby.

But the home-birth went horribly south. She was loosing too much blood, she was turning pale, and Trina couldn't get the baby out.

No matter how many times she pushed or anything like that, the baby wouldn't come out. She was so scared, I mean, who wouldn't be?

Trina didn't want Marvin there watching her give birth, but the very moment he got the phone call telling him that Trina's home birth hadn't gone to plan and that she was at the hospital having an emergency cesarian-section, he dropped everything to go and see her.

He didn't love her at all, no, he didn't care for his wife whatsoever - he cared about how the baby - how their baby was doing. He went to the hospital.

Trina was in the hospital, she had tons of different machines hooked up to her, wires were in her arms and everything, like a movie. She was so scared. Trina had went under anaesthesia, she was so hungry and tired. Thirsty. She had been in labour at home for fifteen excruciating hours before being taken to the hospital. And after the cesarian section, she wanted to see her baby.

She knew that it was a boy. Thats all they told her. Marvin, he'd husband, was stood beside her while she was layed down in a hospital bed with a blanket tucked up to her chest.

"Marv?" she whispered, her voice slightly breaking as she spoke. "Why haven't they handed him to me yet? I need to see him. I want to hold him - tell the nurses that I want to hold him. They're scaring me, Marvin. They're scaring me." she repeated, sitting up.

Trina clutched her husband's hand for comfort. She didn't like the uncomfortable silence, she could see them watching over the baby, her baby, but the silence made her worry and each new second of silence became increasingly unbearable. Was her baby okay? Was he okay? Were they taking good care of him?
