Rodrick was in his family's garage, where his band was normally set up, to practice for the big talent show at the end of the school year. Rodrick was fully invested in the fact that the talent show would give all the members of their punk-rock baby, 'Löded Diper', their "big break" and that it was going to launch their careers in the music industry. Rodrick's mother and father thought that it was a bit of a stretch, and Rodrick's younger brother Greg certainly didn't believe that he was going to make it big either.

Rodrick was in the garage, using his dad's cr window as a mirror while he applied eyeliner to his waterline. His dad often questioned him about that choice, but he never exactly did anything to prevent Rodrick from keeping his punk look, so Rodrick wasn't particularly bothered about it.

He used his fingers to smudge the eyeliner around the bottom rims of his eyes. He messed up his hair, and in his opinion, he looked perfect. Rodrick then clipped on his 'R' necklace.

When questioned about the necklace by anyone, he just said that the 'R' stood for Rodrick, but that wasn't true at all. It stood for Regina, the make of Rodrick's girlfriend. She was by far one of the most popular girls in the school, and one of the prettiest.

She was drawn in by how different Rodrick was to the many boys she dated, and the many boys that she could date, since she could realistically date whoever she wanted, if she put her mind to it. That's how far her reach was.

Rodrick went back to his drum kit, practicing one of his songs. Drum was the one thing he felt he was good at, he'd always been good with it. The music was crazy loud, that's why he was practicing now — when nobody else was home.

And that was precisely the reason Rodrick didn't hear Regina slip through his backdoor and follow the loud sound of metal drinking into his garage. Rodrick scoffed at the sight of her, putting down his drumsticks when he saw her.

"Why? Why are you here? Can you not just call or something?" he said, picking Regina up. She kicked a little, playfully. Rodrick sat back down where his drum kit was, with Regina sat on his lap.

"I was practicing, you know. That talent show is two weeks away. My big break." Rodrick said, placing his chin on Regina's shoulder.
