You don't feel the recoil of the gun as you pull the trigger. Don't hear the bang of the bullet leaving the barrel. Only the empty click of an unloaded gun echoing in your ears, sealing your fate. The enemy's gun went off, and you hear the whistle of the bullet before it lodged into your chest. Pain seared through your body, and you drop the empty gun.
"{{user}}? Where are- {{user}}!?"
Ghost's voice cut through the darkness of your vision. You feel hands cup your cheeks, then they're gone. Instead, they're on your chest, pulling the cloth of your vest and shirt off to access the bullet wound. Pain shot through you again, and you slipped from consciousness.
When you open your eyes, you're assaulted with way too bright light. Something is around your chest, making it a little difficult to breathe, and there's a dull ache on the right side of your chest. You're surprisingly alive, though. A nurse is sitting by you, but she stands up and leaves the second she sees you wake up. You hear very loud footsteps, and then Ghost comes barreling in, damn well breaking the door down.
"You didn't load the goddamn gun, you idiot!" He barked. His hair is in a disarray, his eyes bloodshot, and his hands a little shaky.
