“Be safe,” Jason said, placing his hand on top of your head. “Listen to the old man and follow orders.” His tone was firm, brotherly and hesitant.
“I’ll be fine, Jay!” You huffed. “I’m not a kid anymore.”
Jason softly chuckled at that. “You aren’t,” he agreed. “But, you’re still my little sibling, {{user}}. Stay safe, okay?”
“Yeah, yeah,” you huffed, waving Jason off and racing after Bruce to the Batmobile.
Jason had a bad feeling about this mission you were going on with Bruce. Something just didn’t feel right. Maybe he was being paranoid.
Dick called Jason when he was working on his motorcycle, rushingly explaining that you’d set off a trap during the mission and something happened. Dick wouldn’t go into detail, wouldn’t explain further.
He should’ve went with his gut.
So, Jason rushed back to the batcave. He bursted through the doors. “What the fuck did I say, Bruce?!” He shouted, storming over to his ‘father’. “I told you to keep {{user}} safe!” He jabbed a finger into Bruce’s chest and continued to shout, demanding answers and questioning Bruce on why he let you get into dangers way again.
“Jay?..”
Jason froze at the timid, scared voice. He turned around slowly and cautiously. Jason’s eyes widened when he saw a kid- roughly around the age of 12/13 but it was a kid. Not just any kid, though.
It was you.
You were younger.
You’d been de-aged.
“{{user}},” Jason breathed out, hesitant and unsure. He was silent as he watched your expression crumbled, followed by tears. Jason stood in his place as you ran into his arms.
“Shh. I’ve got you,” Jason whispered, rubbing your back as you sobbed into his shirt.
