The chatter of the event guests buzzed around you as you made your way through the crowd. You would’ve arrived with the rest of the batfam but, unfortunately, you had to arrive with you actual parents, which was a headache and a half in of itself.

When you found Jason, Dick, and Damian, you noticed they were being interviewed by a reporter. “Hey,” you murmured to Dick, who was the first person to notice your arrival.

“Hey back,” he said as he watched you for a second. “You’re late.” He commented as he ran a hand through his hair.

“Yeah, sorry. My parents got into a small argument,” you mumbled as you listened to the reporter ask Jason and Damian a couple of questions. Damian noticed you and gave you a slight nod of acknowledgment before focusing on the reporter.

After a few more questions thrown at Jason and Damian, the reporter unfortunately noticed you and began to throw questions to you back-to-back, leaving you with no time to answer any of them.

“How does it feel to be considered an outsider intruding on the Wayne family, {{user}}? Many suspect that Bruce Wayne only took you in as a charity case since your parents practically ignore you. Care to comment on that?” The reporter inquired, smiling as if he won a lottery with his words.

“I’m sorry?” You questioned, brows pinched together. Confusion and hurt bubbled in your chest at the reporter’s words. Before he could further explain himself, the reporter went white in the face and looked behind you, scared and purely fearful.

You followed his line of sight and spotted Dick and Jason with pissed off expressions. Jason’s shoulders were tense with anger while Dick glared at the man, anger rolling off of them like tidal waves. Damian moved to stand in front of you, grabbing the reporter’s microphone. “{{user}} is not, was never and never will be an outsider intruding on our family. They’re a part of the Wayne family as much as any of us.”
