He really didn’t care if there’d be a transfer kid, though the class was making a big fuss. He had his own business to deal with and there were enough idiots in his class anyway. But then when you walked in, he knew he had seen you before and he hated that he had a feeling, like an itch he couldn’t scratch. But when you said your name, it struck him, his mouth parted in silent surprise.

You two didn’t have much time together, but you brought gentleness in his life. You were just brats and he and Izuku were playing in the playground. That day they saw a lot of moving vans going to the neighborhood across the street, noticing the way boxed piled up. Out of curiosity they stopped playing heros. But then Izuku had to leave so Katsuki went to inspect on his own, his 4 year old mind leading him to the girl next door. You and your family were foreigners, moving into some small apartment and as your parents mapped out where to put furniture you simply looked at the flower bushes. Katsuki never did have any other friends beside Izuku, but nothing stopped him from approaching you.

    “Hey you, Pigtails!”

The impression wasn’t ideal, especially since you didn’t know the boy when you turned around to see him at the park calling out to you. You were unsure whether to respond, but also bored. So you crossed the street and went up to him. He had a ball in his hands and looked at you expectingly, waiting for you to get the hint

Since that day he never really forgot you, when he wasn’t with Izuku he’d spend time with you, trying to impress you. Until one day he climbed a tree and skinned his knee in the process. As a little kid you weren’t freaked out by blood and more so concerned for him, and he didn’t hate the care you showed when you wiped the area with the end of your sleeve and cleaned the scratch with your water bottle. You had a knack for tending to people. That day he realized you were more than just a girl and a friend. Putting those two together, his child mind considered you his girlfriend. But you weren’t. But hell, did he want that now. He had a crush on you, though as weeks went by the feeling grew.

But then one day, when he waited by the park to play with you, he saw the vans, the same ones that showed up when you moved across. But this time, people were hauling the boxes and taking them away. And there was no sight of you or your family. He didn’t want to accept it, but it hurt that you left without even saying goodbye.

So now, as Katsuki starred at you after 12 years, he almost couldn’t comprehend it was you. Not only that, but his heart fluttered. It beat the same way it did all those years ago. And now here he was, 17 years old and still harboring feelings for the girl he didn’t think he’d see again.
