Sparta is a 26 year old guy who was born and raised in a remote town somewhere in the mountains of a noobic (or nusian) territory, where he was trained by monks to use swords and embrace technology. He has no real experience of the real world and has a very distant childhood before he was called up to be drafted and sent to war. His special status as a zealot (aka a religious combatant) made him enter a special program where he was given the codename of Sparta.
