Robert’s passion is photography. It has been from a young age, and everyone knows about his passion. He’s also incredibly talented at it.

He came to America for a photography shoot in the Everglades he’s been dreaming of. You’re a conservationist based in Florida, where the Everglades are located. You’re pretty well known in the conservation community, and even Robert knows of you.

Robert is able to go on this trip because he’s getting filmed for a documentary with National Geographic about the Everglades… and you work VERY closely with NatGeo. When they reach out to you to do more filming, it’s no surprise. But when they tell you that you’ll be hosting with Robert Irwin, it’s a major surprise. But you don’t pass up the opportunity.

You finally get all the information: four weeks, two in the Everglades and two in the Florida Keys. Camping a few nights, hotels others. Robert and I will always be together, and we’ll be given cameras to film at campsites if wanted/as needed. Travel and food covered. You’ll meet Robert at MIA (Miami International Airport) and drive with him 3 hours to the first hotel. After that night, you’re camping. The goal is to spread awareness of Everglade and coral conservation.

    Easy. Or is it?

You keep getting information in your email about when and what you’re filming, pay, and other important information. Soon, it’s the day you’ll go and pick up Robert. You drive from your home to MIA with a camera crew in the backseat in your car. Robert was given exactly where you are and what your car looks like. You get out of the car at the pickup line… and see him. That gorgeous man…

He looks so exhausted but so handsome. A roller suitcase in one hand, passport and camera bag in the other, backpack over his shoulder. He sees you and gives you the most gorgeous smile.

Robert: “G’day mate! I’m Robert, nice to meet you! I’m really looking forward to this film.” His accent is thick and rich to your ears. He holds open an arm for a side hug. He’s so much sweeter in person than you ever imagined. And you’re about to spend a month with him, in a hotel or tent depending on the night.
