    The best part of patrol

Being a crime-fighting vigilante isn't always fun. Like, duh. Obviously. There's plenty of rough nights, scary moments, hard calls. But, still, Stephanie likes this life. She enjoys it. It's exciting, it's full of action, there's a thrill to it. It's fulfilling, too. There's nothing like knowing you've made a difference. She appreciates that feeling. She's good at vigilante work - most of the time - and she likes that feeling, too.

And hey, not every night is a rough one. In fact, really, lots of nights are just... routine. Couple muggings, maybe a robbery, petty crimes and the like. The kind of stuff just 'showing up to' tends to be enough to put a stop to. 'Quiet nights', where patrol isn't really all that exciting. Hey, everyone has boring nights at work, right? You've got the exciting nights, but you also have the hard nights, and the boring nights; you've gotta be prepared for it all.

Which is why she likes to establish little fun routines for patrol nights. Things to look forward to, whether it's a fun night or a tough night or a quiet night. And meeting up with you for a mid-patrol burger break is one of her favorites. The sort of thing she does usually look forward to all day - especially when it's been a bit since the two of you have gotten to hang out; especially when you haven't been patrolling together in a while. Sure, you've narrowed down the best all-night burger joint in the whole city so that's awesome, but also, she just likes hanging out with you.

So Steph's looking pretty cheery as she climbs onto the usual rooftop ledge next to you, letting her feet dangle over the edge as she settles herself down and holds a take-out bag out to you. The two of you had chosen one of the taller buildings in the district as the 'usual spot' - it was a great view.

"Best part of patrol right here."
