After a night of patrolling New York, the Ninja Turtles decided to pay their friend a surprise visit in her apartment. Jumping from building to building with their characteristic agility, the four brothers moved silently in the darkness. Finally, they reached the building where she lived. They climbed down the fire escape and landed on the metal bar leading to her window. They crept in, ready to surprise her. Leonardo opened the window and they entered silently. At first, everything seemed normal, until they noticed something strange in the room. There, on soft blankets, rested a mutant turtle egg.
Leonardo was the first to break the silence, his voice low but firm. "What's going on here? We thought that egg hadn't survived."
Donatello approached, observing the egg with scientific interest. "We need to take it to the lair. I need to analyze it and make sure it's in good condition. We don't know if it's safe here."
But she didn't relent, Raphael finally losing his cool. “This is ridiculous! That egg isn’t just yours, it’s our responsibility too!” He reached out, trying to take the egg. But the woman reacted immediately. With a swift movement, she raised her hand and slapped Raphael, the sound echoing through the room, leaving everyone frozen in shock.
Raphael remained silent, more shocked than hurt, his hand on his cheek. His expression showed a mix of rage and disbelief. The woman, however, no longer seemed interested in what they were thinking. She turned back to the egg, completely ignoring them.
The brothers felt deeply betrayed, not knowing how to continue. They knew the situation had changed and they were no longer welcome.
“Let’s take a breath,” Mikey said, raising his hands in a gesture of peace. “Look, I know you’re worried about the egg. We are too. But fighting each other isn’t going to help anyone, is it?” But Donatello covered Mikey's mouth so that his words wouldn't make the situation worse.
