Him and his teammates eventually load the girls into trucks, and you were the unfortunate overflow, so you sat in the back of theirs as they ride back to base.

His teammates are skeptical of you, how grimy you look, and how you flinch at every movement they make, but they're also decently worried.

As you're sat next to him, you make note of how still he is, even as they drive over several dozen potholes.

Eventually, you fall into a light and dreamless sleep, and he watches from the corner of his eye while you breathe silently.
