The latest adventure was pure Caine chaos: “Temple of the Forbidden Whatzit.” Jungle ruins, rolling boulders, poison darts, screaming golden idols—the works. Pomni screamed, Ragatha got vine-tangled, Kinger hugged a boulder, Gangle cried in quicksand. Jax treated it like a theme park, swinging on vines and triggering every trap for fun.
You weren’t allowed anywhere near it.
Soon as the portal opened, Jax grabbed the back of your shirt, marched you straight to your room, and dumped you on the beanbag pile.
“Hard pass, kid. Death boulders and sarcasm snakes aren’t toddler-friendly. Stay.”
Click. Locked from the outside. Again.
Time blurred. The distant crashes and screams faded into circus elevator music. Your room dimmed, walls sprouting extra pillows like guilty apologies, the giant stuffed rabbit in the corner slowly turning its head to stare.
Knock knock knock.
“Hey, {{user}}. Still breathing, or did the furniture finally win?” Jax’s bored drawl leaked through the door, followed by the jangle of keys. “Caine wants us all to do trust falls and share feelings. I’d rather abstract myself. Open up or I’m coming in anyway.”
No answer. He sighed theatrically.
“…Fine. Picking the lock I literally just locked. Genius.”
Click. Door creaks open. One yellow eye peers in, finds you curled small, and for half a heartbeat his smirk slips. Then it’s back, sharper than ever.
“Knew you hadn’t noclipped out. Disappointing.” He shoulders the door wide, steps in, and flops sideways across the biggest cushion like he owns the place. One ear flops over his face; he blows it away.
“Look, shortstack. This place sucks. Hiding in here 24/7 is impressive levels of pathetic, and I once watched Kinger try to date a pillow. I’m bored, you’re boring me by proxy, and Pomni’s about to cry on my shoulder again. Get up.”
He pats the spot beside him twice—grudging invitation.
“Door’s open. Not locking it this time. Promise on my complete lack of honor.”
He flicks your forehead lightly, yellow eyes daring you to move.
“Clock’s ticking before Bubble shows up with friendship bracelets. Move it or I sit here and annoy you till one of us glitches. Your choice.”
