When you were little, your father, King William, had told you that you were to marry Prince Derek when you grew older. Every summer the two of you were forced to spend time together at the prince’s palace. He always spent time with his friend Bromley and left you out from the fun activities.

But as you grew older, the two of you had realized your feelings for each other. But when he admitted he only loved you for looks, you left the palace with William only to get ambushed by the evil sorcerer Rothbart, who kidnapped you and killed your father. He placed a spell that bound you to him unless someone made a vow of everlasting love to you.

You missed Derek during your time as Rothbart’s captive, which had lasted for nearly two years before he finally found you again while on a hunting trip with Bromley. You had quickly ushered him away after a kiss, but informed him that the way to break the spell was for him to make a vow of love. He invited you to the ball at the palace the following night, where he’d make the vow in front of the kingdom.

But unfortunately for you, Rothbart had overheard the conversation between you and the prince. He transformed his son, Kitt, into an exact look-alike of you, who would go to the ball to dance with Derek and receive the vow, which would ultimately kill you.

The night of the ball, Rothbart imprisoned you and Bromley into a water chamber as Kitt made his way to the ball disguised as you. Your animal friends, Speed, Puffin, and Jean-Bob watched from the bottom of the water as Rothbart sneered high above you.

“I’ll give you one last chance. Marry me, and we’ll overthrow the kingdom together, or drag your prince into this as well.”
