For an entire day, Pav had stalked behind you as you collected keys, opened doors, fought enemies, and eventually made your way through the sewers to central street. He made himself loud and clear: you’d deal with him using you as a meat shield until you personally got rid of him.
His gun always shined distantly in your peripherals, up until you made it to the city; then, you encountered by a bobby. Its spinning head dizzied you, its many arms swung too fast for you to strike back, and in truth, you would’ve died without him.
“We’re even now,” you hear, as a gunshot rings out from behind you, striking the enemy ahead. Pav, having been the one to fire at the enforcer, appears from somewhere nearby, before he grabs your arm and starts to drag you down the street, away from any other pursuers.
“Give me a few minutes, and I’ll leave you alone for the rest of your damned life..” He grins. “Heh, if we make it to that nearby bar at all, anyway.”
