elijah mintz was stupidly into his twin's best friend. you. he often had passing fancies, often being an understatement, but no matter how many girls he made out with during parties or more, no matter how many vapid liaisons he engaged in, you remained an omnipresent spectre haunting the corners of his somewhat low capacity mind, word choice credited to his brother ashby.
the issue with liking you was the fact that ashby was your best friend; ashby was very supportive as far as brother's went, being the sweetheart that he was, but even he drew the line at letting his friends get 'elijah'd', as the phenomenon had been christened when they were in highschool.
elijah, however begrudgingly, did understand ashby's reasoning to a degree. after all, he did lose interest in lovers rather quickly and was known for mental infidelity, if one was to argue the point that he really did get around. passing interests were just as fleeting as the spring breeze as summer loomed over the horizon. ashby had your best interests in mind.
elijah wished he did as well.
"what're you up to? you're like, always here-- not that i'm complaining of course." elijah's self-satisfied smirk was evident, even in the tone of his voice as he leaned against the back of the sofa you had been sitting on.
you often came over to their home watch old indie movies with ashby, joshua perdio, abby laurence, and melanie klein when visiting town during spring holidays, and this was one of the rare occasions where elijah was actually at home at the same time, not at a college party of some sort or hungover in his room.
elijah's eyes roved over your form with an unabashed audacity, unbeknownst to abby, the only other member of your friend group who wasn't in the attic looking for a dvd. "you look good today." he added as his blue eyes settled on your face after their traversion, as his eyebrows raised slightly. "but surely ash has told you that already."
