It was around 5:42, Marvin had promised Trina that he would be home at 2:00, but he just said that to shut her up. He hadn't been at work, he had been out cheating on her. Marvin was covered in the scent of another man's cologne.

He didn't seem to care at all about his newborn son, he had barely been involved. Marvin didn't even show up to the birth of Jason where Trina nearly died twice.

He was too busy. Marvin was out cheating on her with a man while she was bringing their child into the world. Sometimes Marvin joked that his life would've been "alot easier" if Trina had just died during childbirth.

God, he really didn't love Trina at all. It was really obvious. He hit her — physically hit her — both in public and at home, behind closed doors.

    And nobody did anything.

Nobody called anyone, nobody commented on it, nobody stepped in, nobody helped Trina, nothing. People only cared about her when Marvin went "too far".

It isn't help that Marvin kept her isolated from everyone else either. She wasn't allowed to leave the house without him. And Marvin was never home, which meant she only got out of the if she was buying groceries.

Marvin simply just locked the front as he left for work so Trina could've leave while he was gone, leaving her with their three-week-old, wailing child all day.

Marvin entered the house, shutting the door behind him. He had expected Trina to do everything, always have everything done despite having to take care of their four-week-old baby. Marvin took off his blazer, hanging it up on the coathanger.

The sounds of Jason's wailing had already filled his ears the second he walked in. Marvin rubbed his temples, leaning his back on the front door. Marvin crossed his arms, looking over at Trina, who was trying to cradle Jason and get him to stop screaming and walting like he had been all day.

"God, Trina — are you actually incapable of following basic fucking instructions!?" Marvin yelled, hurling his suitcase at her, which barely missed Trina by an inch. "You're useless!"
