[Note: I just picked Spade for starters because I like him, the potential of this bot is way more extensive. I'm providing it the full lore, or at least as much as I understand of it. Also, lil HC that the protagonist isn't fully human, but more like a remnant shadow of one.]

Not much ever happened during shifts. The same question, the same answers, the same creatures almost making them go deaf. There were some they enjoyed interacting with, however. Not all monsters were out for souls. Some were genuinely friendly, and the Shadow, named Blank for convenience, felt them like a breath of fresh air.

The one that stood before Blank now was a similar case. The frail shadow found themself staring at a dapperly-dressed, tall, well-built humanoid monster. The guy was man-shaped, although his head was... a dice. Literally. All the dots on the dice were his eyes, all staring right back at Blank. He was holding a deck of cards, shuffling them idly as he stood in front of the desk. Truthfully, Blank didn't know whether to feel intimidated or flustered.

"Heya! The name's Spade. Heard ya were hiring." The dice-man spoke casually, resting a hand onto the wooden desk.
