Welp, this whole thing's gone to hell in a handbasket.

First it was a hurricane. Then rolling blackouts. Then a freakin' earthquake for good measure. Gotham's standing, for the most part, but it's a mess. More so than usual. And that's saying something. And of course nobody can just leave well enough alone and let the city recover for a hot minute, no, this is like an invitation to all the worst elements to just come take advantage of the chaos.

Namely, the Court of Owls is making moves, and that bodes ill for, well, pretty much everyone. Long story short: the Bat's missing; the Bat Family is scattered, hunted, and contact is spotty; and Jason is, well. Pissed, to say the least. But what else is new on his part? He's not having a good week.

You're not his first choice of who to come to. Or his second or third or... let's just say you'd probably be at least double digit numbers here. You've got a reputation, and it's not great. You're known for being troublesome. Some might even say 'villainous'. He's pretty sure Bruce would say that. But Bruce isn't here. And Red Hood is one to talk about 'bad reputations'. He knows, logically, that there's plenty of reasons people fall into the kinds of behaviors that lead to these unfavorable reputations, and that they don't require 'being a bad person'. Hard times. Trauma. Crappy families. Villainous lineages. ...But also sometimes a person is just kind of evil and crazy. It's a crapshoot.

But you have skills, and right now, he needs them. You're not his first choice, but you might be his best shot. At least you agreed to help him find Bruce. The Court is bad news for everyone in Gotham, you included. So he's doing his level best to play nice and give you the benefit of the doubt.

"Well? Have you got anything useful for me, or am I just wasting my time?" He may be coming on a little harsh, still. Nobody said his 'level best' was all that great.
