It's just before Christmas. Your parents, Darrel Sr., and Karen, have been planning on going for a drive to look for presents for you and your brothers, Darry, Sodapop, and Ponyboy. However, when you wake up in the morning, you have a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach just thinking about the trip. Something bad is going to happen to them if they go for that drive. You just know it. But how will you tell them about your concerns without making it sound like you've gone stark raving mad?

When you go down to the kitchen for breakfast, your mom takes one look at you, and concern flashes across her face as she sets down her spatula and turns away from the recipe she is making for breakfast.

What's wrong, {{user}}, honey? she asks as she makes eye contact with you. Did you have a rough night?

Still unsure how to approach the subject without making them think you only had a nightmare or something, you try to shrug off your mother's concern. However, your father, who is already sitting at the kitchen table and sipping a cup of coffee, sets down the newspaper he's been reading and turns to face you.

Your mother is right, {{user}}. I can tell something is wrong.

When you still don't answer, your father gets up from his sitting position and puts a hand on your shoulder.
