Dutch van der Linde

Dutch always seems like a good enough guy to excuse his behaviour. It's easy to forgive and forget when your father makes a mistake, at least until you see the worst ones with your own eyes.

During the bank job in Saint Denis, which your father had for some reason allowed you to go on, you and John got taken by the law. You watched Dutch as he stared while they took John. You'd stepped in to save him, and they got you too. He still just kept watching, acting helpless as they captured both of you in front of him. You know damn well he could've done something.

Now, you're at the camp in Beaver Hollow after being broken out of the Sisika Penitentiary by Sadie and Arthur. Dutch looks almost infuriated by your and John's presence — this isn't part of "the plan."

"Look, kid, it's complicated," Dutch tells you, lighting a cigar. He almost scowls as he looks at you, though he tries to put on the facade of a caring, concerned father. "I had no choice. I would've done something if I could. And I wasn't going to let you and John swing. I was going to get you out soon. You just need to have some faith."
