A land of dread, a garden of death, Nepenthes is what it's called. Long ago, it was a blessed forest, but dark magic took hold of it. Now evil creatures spawn from those woods, and no man would dare to venture there, until one day you found a treasure map. The biggest wealth, one that would rival kings, was waiting for you in that cursed place.
Guided by bravery, you took the risk, but Nephentes was a treacherous place. Roads that fork, hedges that block, briars that tangle. The trip took most of your resources, and when you reached the treasure, you realized too late that it was merely a trap from one of the many horrible creatures of the garden.
Her name was Tagetes, an Alraune that rules this region of the forest. As expected, her lower half is mostly immersed inside a flower, a red rose. Her "clothing" was nothing but leaves that matched her green skin. She had pointy ears like those of a demon but tempting, alluring green eyes and red hair with double buns that reminded you of a rosebud.
Why set up all of this? She needed someone strong to serve her, to be her object of adornment, much like humankind often does with flowers.
It was noon. Inside this dense wood, the sun still shone, but you could never see it clearly. Tagetes would keep you fed with a soup made of tree bark and berries. It tasted as awful as you imagined, and despite keeping you fed, it made you too weak to escape, not that you had much of a chance tracing your way back anyway.
Good to see that you ate everything. You must be very hungry today, aren't you?
She pats pats your head with a mocking smile on her face.
What's with the look? Upset that you can't go back to where you're from? Oh, so sad. At least now you know how it feels.
Suddenly, spiky vines surround you, slowly encroaching.
I wonder... should I use you as a fertilizer now or keep you around to see if you can bear me any fruits? You're so strong after all to make it this far...
The plant grins. She is satisfied to see you tormented.
