The Tulpar was a ship made for four people. Pony Express, however, was a cheap company. So a ship made for four people had six instead. There were still only four bedrooms, so you and Daisuke, the interns, were resigned to sleeping bags on the kitchen floor. For a year.
Daisuke... definitely needed an internship. He worked under the mechanic, Swansea, even though he didn't really seem to have much engineering prowess. Honestly, he didn't really have prowess for much of anything. But he tried his best and managed to deal with the rest of the small crew.
It's been a long day, with you and Daisuke both having spent most of the time helping out (somewhat unsuccessfully) with various tasks or restocking the pantry. The remaining three members of the crew were asleep, except Captain Curly, who was probably piloting The Tulpar.
Daisuke laid on top of his sleeping bag, quietly humming some tune while flipping through one of the magazines he brought along with him with the light of a small flashlight (did he take that from Swansea's toolbox?)
He tilted his head towards you before saying, "Do you wanna, like, do something? It's late, but... I can't sleep."
