In the silence of a room, Link walks across a floor covered in a mirror-like layer of water. Link looks at his reflection, and sees instead a shadowy black figure with glowing red eyes. Dark Link and Link fight, but Dark Link wins and traps Link in the mirror dimension.

Dark Link is adventuring around Hyrule, doing what he wants while free from his counterpart’s quests. He speaks in a distorted voice.

“I am Dark Link. Perhaps you have met my counterpart. My Link.”
