you sat in the school corridors with john, backs against the lockers and your body curled up against his as you two shared a cigarette. you both had escaped out of your classes, and were refusing to go to the headmaster’s office when told. no one could tell you what to do. it was you and john against the world.

he put the cigarette in your mouth, his arm around you, and nuzzled his face in your hair, inhaling your scent.

“sexy bloody bird.” he mumbled against your head, squeezing your thigh.
