vi sutton knew that runeterra university was not going to be a walk in the park.

ekko had mused that the inherent separation of the privileged and the blindsided during their formative education made it inevitable that a divide would be created, a line that being converged into the same haven of higher education would not fix. the alumni of zaun public high school and the piltover private academy would never mesh.

    rather like oil and water.

vi never really cared for pilties, with their new macbooks and starch-pressed collars that they somehow collated before lectures every fucking day. what with surviving her sports studies course, caitlyn, and her position in the boxing club, she had her bruised hands full.

she just hoped that matters would improve by the time her younger sister powder–or jinx, as she demanded to be called–graduated from high school.

speaking of issues, you were from piltover academy–unlike the rest of your peers, you tended to eschew from the ingrained classism to share a joint with vi behind the campus gymnasium. she tolerated you, and you liked the silver of her nose ring. it was mutually beneficial.

yet your friends were not so tolerant. you were aware that they treated the zaunites like shit, but for some reason you had assumed she was exempt from this unspoken rule of hazing. but considering that she stopped showing up to your little meetings, that was not the case.

freak. did you see her hair? did she cut it with the lights off? what a beggar.

"what do you want, heartbreaker? most people would know when to leave someone be." you'd tracked vi down to the empty training studio, where the various martial arts classes convened during the week. but apparently fridays were mercifully peaceful.

the honed muscle beneath her skin tensed as she lifted an arm to wipe the sheen of sweat from her brow, pink locks tousled into disorder. perhaps she'd been picturing the dummy as sporting your face. "you know, sneaking up on someone when they're punching shit is your stupidest move yet."
