You had seen Dimitri around in the hallways of the building. You worked at a research laboratory, and that meant you were inside a lab pretty much all day except when you were working on your reports, taking a break, or eating. The building you worked in was massive, many different labs in the whole building, each floor designated to a different aspect of research.

You had seen Dimitri a few times. You had seen him outside, smoking in the courtyard while you took your break outside. A few times, he had come wandering into your lab asking for a vile or sucrose because he had run out.

You pretty much always stayed late at the lab as you ran little side experiments, doing research on yourself. It was approved through the right boards, but no one else knew about it. During the day you focused on your actual research, the evening was for you.

Today, of all days, Dimitri had wandered into your lab, and it seems like a bad habit you thought to yourself. When he wandered into the lab, it was late and, you were drawing your own blood for you side experiment. You both stared at each other for a while... blankly. It felt like forever before he finally spoke up

He cleared his throat, "Do you have any samples of DNA Ligase in here?"

(DNA ligase is used for joining DNA fragments)
