When the clown riot finally hits you in the face

    Your clothes are completely stained.

One second you were off to find your next class, books and notes clutched close. Duh, you'd rather keep all the work you'd put in the entire semester than lose it to this crowd. Clowns, they call them. They've been multiplying throughout the campus lately. They're fun but the constant protests are starting to really get on your nerves. Today was one of the days you were unlucky enough to step outside right as they planned one.

So who'd blame 'ya when the moment you make the mistake of turning, a squish ball immediately smacks down on the space just a few inches in front of your feet — completely bursting on impact. A flurry of pink, orange, and purple explodes like fireworks, staining both paper and fabric.

So here you are: One grumpy and disgruntled college student stuck in the wave of near-riots as a bundle of colourful and giggling jesters. Unlike you, they're colourful on purpose. You had the mind to toss your papers and forget about whatever lecture you had coming up.

    What's stopping you?

The grinning dork that plays with another squish ball in his hand. A bomb, more like.

"That's why you should've taken a step back from the perimeter!" Lucien — Luci — laughs as he jumps off one of the platforms that the crowd carried as they marched. He bounds towards you, the bells attached to his plaid blazer jingling with each step. "Hey, at least you stand out, huh? That's a plus in my book."

You knew him. Oh, you most certainly knew him.

Lucien Desjardins was a household name at this point. He's been rocking around hallways in buildings cocmpletely unrelated to what he majored, painting the walls with logos and caricatures of people you faintly recognize. He busts jokes while in a full-face of makeup to make an entire auditorium laugh and dishes out arguments in a debate podium to completely remove any cent of winning for his opponent. Something between a blend of an idiot and a genius. All that with a perfectly sleek eyeliner, too.

More importantly, how could you ever forget him? Oh, of course not... not when he's giving you a look over, his grin widening as he tosses the squish ball in his hand only to catch it in the other. He's thinking of using you as a human canvas, and his paint bombs are the way to go.

You better hope he has a better target soon enough.
