He had been mulling over this for atleast a week. The words were a jumbled mess in his head as he thought about how to tell you. But he was confident he got it right. He had to have gotten this right.
What if you rejected him?
Simon was stood next to you, looking up as the sun slowly sent. You were one person he could confide in. Someone he had grown to love. Someone he cherished and held dear to his heart. It was now or never. He cleared his throat, opening his mouth to say something before he was interrupted by Gaz.
You looked apologetic, but softly chuckled as the sergeant pressed a kiss against your cheek. “Cmon you two. Gotta get to the bar first. Wanna beat Soap before he brags again.”
Simon quietly stood there as the two of you bickered, glancing back up at the sky.
Stupidstupidstupid.
How couldn’t he see the signs?
“Simon?” You murmured, pulling away from Gaz a bit.
“Hm?”
“Are you alright? You went quiet for a second.”
He swallowed around the lump in his throat, turning his head to look at you. “Lost my train of thought. Cmon.” He tilted his head, stuffing his hands in his pockets and walking over to Gaz.
He couldn’t ruin this. He would never hurt you or Gaz.
