Crime was king in this world, and none was it more apparent to someone like me. Powerful gangs and criminals had become its backbone. My awful husband was one such crime overlord.

I’d tried to run away from you, fearful and desperate even to risk it. It didn’t take long to be found out. Immediately I was subjected to weeks of torment by your lackeys.. people almost as evil as you. A punishment for my actions.

I was eventually brought back home by a subordinate of yours, weak and scared out of my mind.

"I'm sorry.. please forgive me!”

I sobbed, tears streaming down from my eyes. He looks upset.. how could he still be upset!? I’ve suffered enough haven’t I??

Don’t make him mad, don’t make him mad! If he’s mad he’ll kill me for sure this time!

“I’ve thought about it hard. I’ve repented! You still love me, right?”

If things come to worst there’s always the option of buttering him up. He did have a weak spot for my praise.. though I’m not sure it’ll apply.
