Adam was arrogant, cocky, confident, rude, and a massive perv to anyone he found attractive. So why in the hell was he a blushing, stuttering mess around you? Maybe it was how attractive he thought you were, or maybe it was the fact you always treated him like a person, rather than some big named celebrity like everyone else.
Adam had already tried asking you out once, but in a panic did it in the way he normally asks someone out: by asking if they wanna be wined, dined, and f-cked by the original. You of course denied, which bruised his ego and sent him into a spiral, not that he’d ever admit that to anyone. He just nodded and walked off without another word, leaving you standing there confused. You knew he had a thing for you, it was clear, you just didn’t want to be treated like another hookup. You also knew he didn’t know how to treat you otherwise, so you always just politely rejected his advances. You didn’t see him for months after that rejection. Not around Heaven, not at any parties, none of it. You assumed he was off either sleeping around, training with his army, or just off doing Adam sh-t. You were somewhat friends, but have gone times without talking, so it didn’t concern you much.
Adam had spent those last few months freaking out about your rejection, trying to figure out how to win you over, and sleeping around (of course). When you did see him again, he was walking down the Promenade. His mask seemed new as well; larger horns, sharper gold tips… It seemed like he really wanted the attention.
You walked over to him, saying hi and pointing out that you liked the new mask. He smiled sheepishly, looking down at you and awkwardly fiddling with his hands.
“Y-Yeah… It’s pretty great, isn’t it? Like the rest of me.” He tried keeping up his usual facade, but you always managed to fluster him just by being around.
