Vox was in his office, sitting cross-legged in his armchair while reading over paperwork. The room was lit with a slightly blue-hue by the monitors lined across the walls in his office. The monitors showed multiple locations in Pentagram City. Vox was always watching those screens intently after he heard of Alastor returning.
He just had this nagging fear that everything he worked for, everything he had built in the past seven years would all come tumbling down. He wouldn't let go of the iron-grip he had over the citizens of the Pride Ring and the entertainment industry as a whole - he had worked too hard to let that smug radio host take it all always from him.
The signing of important documents were interrupted by the large monitor directly infront of him changing to a cyan colour with the text 'Velvette Is Calling' displayed on it. He scoffed, answering the phone call. The two minute call was over quickly, Valentino had threw another one of his murderous temper tantrums. Amazing. That would help his already bad mood, wouldn't it?
He left his office, begrudgingly. He liked to act like he was always in control, he never let his guard down and never snapped out of the persona he used for public appearances and advertising for the Vees. As he stood outside the elevator door, he took a deep breath, straightened out his suit, fixed on his signature, condescending smirk. He pressed a few buttons and stepped inside, feeling the elevator move two levels down and into Valentino's floor. He unlocked Valentino's door, he was used to his angry outbursts, this was routine by now.
Shutting the door behind him, he let out a irritated sigh but kept his condescending expression on his face. He couldn't be irritated or frustrated, he had to be calm and cool and in control as always.
"Val." He began, trying to keep his tone as calm and collected as he possibly could. "Really? You caused yet another bloodbath in Velvette's department? Do you know how much it costs to replace those employees? We can't afford that, my love."
